Great link for my dissertation and leading onto the conclusion, a few pointers to why cinema revenue is declining through underlying factors that i have been exploring e.g. home theatres and mass distribution.

the document you link only refers only to western film and cinema. It is highly bias towards american trends and totally ignores 800 million indians/Bollywood, local trends like UK independent film, French and Japanese industries also, all of which have little or no link to the american films that are mentioned.
it misses an underlying point that as cinema money gets less (apparently?), and the money goes on DVD sales and big tvs.....who makes those items? sony and co, the same people who make the films. so at the end of the line, the industry hasnt lost any money from falling cinema audiences, they just get it in a different way.
this might be worth thinking about if your quoting that site.
Good point,
I guess this proves my point that the moving image industry is still capatilist. The producers and distributors (sony etc.) are making their money (if not more money than before) through these new mediums.
It does however back up my other point that the 'cinematic experience' is somewhat very different to the past due to the rise of new technological mediums. With home theatre's and HD technology on computers do people really need the 'big screen' any more!?
Also with new games like GTA IV, people can interact and be part of a what looks and FEELS like a movie!
Immersive interactivity...
Maybe this is the way forward for film...?
Whats that word beginning with "s" and it sounds like "shhhshs" and it means for 2 companies merging together???
